Sulphur Powder for Rubber Industries
As a vulcanizing agent for natural rubber sulphur powder has a very important role to play in rubber industry. No rubber manufacturer of repute can compromise on the quality of Sulphur powder by using a commercial grade not having uniform particle size nor controlled acidity, ash and moisture content. Any variation on these aspects of the quality could result in poor dispersion, poor vulcanization, impair adhesion, poor quality of the end product and rejection of the complete batch.
The percentage value of sulphur powder compared to the percentage value of rubber mix is so low that, it always wise and profitable to use LAVA GOLD, RM Sulphur specifically manufactured for rubber industries, rather than compromising on commercial grade sulphur powder.
Acidity and moisture content has to be minimized as low as possible. The higher the acidity the poorer the vulcanization. Acidity tends to retard the cure rate of most of the rubber compounds. If the moisture content is higher it will become a carrier for free acidity and also form porosity in the vulcanized product. It the rubber product has textile rubber composition then higher moisture will impair the adhesion as a residual moisture content will tend to steam up and effect the boiling mechanism.
